Yantra Yantra is a Sanskrit word that is derived from the root yam meaning to control or curb and tra meaning instrument. There are different shapes and patterns employed in a yantra which include squares, triangles, circles, floral patterns etc. There are various yantras in Hindu mythology considered as auspicious.
